We pledge to do everything possible to keep your expenses down when it comes to surgery for your children. First and foremost, we condemn the practice of unnecessary surgery and will honestly present all options for your child’s care, including non-operative management. Not every problem that is brought to the attention of the pediatric surgeon requires surgery, and that depends on the surgeon’s judgement and experience. Secondly, to make it easier for you, we have joined a number of insurance networks including:

It is common knowledge that the insurance networks have discounted physician fees below sustainable levels, but fortunately many policies include out of network benefits which allow parents to choose the best specialists to provide care for their children whether they are in or out of the network. Thus, it’s always a good idea to choose the absolute best pediatric surgeon first and then consider the insurance piece. We have an insurance expert in our office who can discuss your options and is empowered to discount consultation fees if necessary. Medicare does not apply to pediatrics, but Medicaid which was initially established to serve the poor and indigent does provide nominal coverage for many families.
