Results of Mucosal Proctectomy Versus Extrarectal Dissection for Ulcerative Colitis and Familial Polyposis in Children and Young Adults.

Over a 5-year period, the authors examined 30 consecutively treated patients, aged 16 years or younger, who underwent total colectomy and ileal pouch-anal anastomosis, (IPAA) using two different surgical methods.
